Award-winning premium adult beverage company, BOM BOM, is set to launch the market’s first-ever liqueur made with hemp milk.

Called “Fully Baked,” the BOM BOM vegan liqueur is a chocolate chip cookie and brownie-flavored concoction of premium Caribbean rum, blended with creamy hemp milk. The beverage is inspired by the founders’ favorite ice cream flavor, Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked. According to a press release, the new Half Baked hemp milk liqueur is already available in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island and will roll out into liquor stores across the country in June.

“We are thrilled that talking about Fully Baked is no longer on a ‘weed-to-know basis,'” BOM BOM founders Kevin Mowers and Eva Maria Janerus said in a joint statement. “We decided to take Half Baked all the way with Fully Baked” they shared. “We want our company to always evolve and we never settle for just good or even just great, which is why Fully Baked uses Hemp Milk. Not only is it lower-calorie and vegan, like our Nilli Vanilli, but it’s nut-free as well and has no artificial flavors or preservatives.”

BOM BOM is no stranger to creating beverages that blend liqueur, with plant-based milk. The company is also the creator of “Nilli Vanilli,” a creamy beverage that blends Caribbean rum with almond milk and vanilla cookie flavors. In spite of containing no dairy cream, Nilli Vanilli was rated the “Best Cream Liqueur of 2017” by the International Review of Spirits.

Once a rarity, vegan cream liqueurs are starting to earn a presence in the adult beverage market. In 2016, Baileys launched a vegan Irish cream liqueur called “Almande” to the US market, followed by a much-anticipated UK debut at two major supermarkets in 2017. The drink was so popular in the UK that Baileys Almande launched a pop-up shop in March, inviting consumers to sample the beverage with complimentary vegan treats. The company later reported that revenue for its Irish cream liquor had grown by 3 percent over the past year, associating the presence of vegan Baileys with the rise in sales.

Within the next year, a dairy-free cream liqueur made with tiger nuts, a starchy root vegetable, from Spanish brand Besos de Oro is also set to debut, to the UK market.
