Popular energy bar company Clif Bar will soon be launching a new, vegan white chocolate macadamia granola, VegNews reported.

Vegan media outlet VegNews shared an image of the product. The photo’s caption read: “Our white chocolate dreams are about to come true, thank to this new granola from @clifbar!”.

The food item is described as “nutrition for sustained energy”. It contains 8g of plant-based protein, 26g of whole grains and is made with organic rolled oats. It is also made using non-GMO ingredients. The white chocolate macadamia nut taste is a “natural flavor”, according to the packaging.

The image has racked up more than 2,800 likes since its posting, with many fans expressing their excitement for the product launch.

The recent rise in veganism has seen more consumers than ever opting for food items free from animal products. Notably, there has been a shift away from stereotypes that those on a plant-based diet eat bland or uninteresting dishes. As more major food outlets, including Pizza Hut and McDonald’s, add vegan options, veganism has become more accessible to the average consumer. In fact, growing popularity has led veganism to be named as “mainstream”.

Clif Bar’s website explained that their products are designed for “athletes and adventurers”. It revealed: “CLIF BARs provide energy from multiple carbohydrate sources, and a blend of protein, fat and fiber slows the rate of digestion delivery sustained energy”. The brand believe eating these foods can “help athletes and adventurers push further and stay strong”.

They add: CLIF BAR encourages you to Feed Your Adventure™ and celebrate, share and inspire moments of outdoor adventure”.

While Clif is not a vegan company, many of their products are ‘accidentally vegan’. The brand also maintain a focus on sustainability. Clif Bar has previously partnered with TerraCycle to encourage wrapper recycling of Clif Bar products. Additionally, the team were awarded the 2017 Climate Leadership Award for Supply Chain Efforts from the Environmental Protection Agency. The award recognizes businesses that “demonstrate leadership in managing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions” both within the supply chain and in operational strategies.

Clif Bar’s mission statement adds that the brand are striving for a “healthier, more sustainable world”.
