Gardein Ready-to-Eat Meatless Vegan Skillet Meals Coming to Stores This April

Popular meatless meat brand Gardein is launching new ready-to-eat vegan skillet meals this April. The frozen food company revealed its brand-new products at the Natural Products Expo West this past weekend in California.

“Global food demand will grow 50% by 2030 and there will be significant need for more protein,” Gardein state on the company website. “We think Gardein is part of the solution. We believe eating more plant-based foods builds good health and good for our planet too. It’s part of the reason why we like to say, goodness grows.”

Earlier this year, in an effort to help more restaurants and cafeterias meet the ever-growing demand for more vegan options, Gardein partnered with the Meatless Monday organization to promote various ingredients and preparations for large-scale producers.

“We are proud to partner with Meatless Monday and offer our customers a way to meet their patrons’ health and wellness needs, help the environment, and increase profits by adding 100% plant-based protein to their menus,” Tom Meyers, the vice president of food service for Pinnacle Foods, Gardein’s parent company, said in a statement.

Peggy Neu, the president of The Meatless Monday Campaigns, said that the partnership would, “make it easy” for restaurants and food operators to implement Meatless Monday programs as consumers seek to replace animal products. Adding that it would help to “meet existing customers’ demand for healthier options.”

Gardein is not just spreading the meatless message across North America; the company’s plant-based products recently also arrived on French shelves; Fish’less Fillets, Beefless Ground and Crispy Chick’n appeared in Carrefour stores across France in January.

Chick’n Fiesta and Italian style Rigatoni n’ Saus’age are two of the new Gardein skillet meals available next month. The meals serve two people and are ready to eat after just nine minutes of cooking time. Gardein is also planning to announce the launch of single-serve bowls later on in 2018.
