“Lez Bomb” is a Thanksgiving romantic comedy that shows how hard it is for one young woman to come out as gay—and as a vegetarian—to her family.
In the film, Lauren (Jenna Laurenzo) tries to find the perfect time to tell her family that she’s a lesbian but soon discovers that there’s never really a “good” time to come out.
“Lez Bomb’s” world premiere was this past May at Geena Davis’ Bentonville Film Festival. The movie won the best narrative feature jury award.
“Girl Night Stand” received a lot of positive buzz after going viral online. It gained 3 million YouTube views, and “was translated into other languages by lesbian fans around the world,” Jenna Laurenzo’s website reported.

“Lez Bomb” also stars Academy Award Winner and longtime animal rights activist Cloris Leachman and Academy Nominated actor Bruce Dern. The film’s ensemble cast includes Steve Guttenberg, Kevin Pollak, Elaine Hendrix, Deirdre O’Connell, Brandon Micheal Hall, Caitlin Mehner, and features Emmy Award Winner Kevin Kane. Bobby Farrelly, the producer of “There’s Something About Mary” and “Dumb and Dumber,” serves as the movie’s executive producer.
“Lez Bomb” is receiving positive press from early reviews. The film is said to freshly spin “comic tropes” we’ve seen before, The Hollywood Reporter reported. “‘Lez Bomb’ may traffic in cliches, but it delivers its messages of love, tolerance and acceptance in such light-hearted, warm fashion that the missteps are easy to overlook.”
“‘Lez Bomb’s been an eight-year journey from the first word on the page, to its jump on screen,” Laurenzo wrote on her Searching for X blog.
“As we roll towards Thanksgiving, my mind darts to my mom saying when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, you spend so much time preparing the meal, then everyone consumes it in 30 minutes. Lez Bomb took [eight] years! … All that time, all that build up, then it’s consumed like a 30 min Thanksgiving feast. Well, 90 minutes. I’m beyond grateful for this journey, and can’t wait to share this meal with those near and dear to my heart.”
“Lez Bomb” debuts this Friday, November 9th in select cities and on-demand.
