The UK-based animal rights organisation Viva! is set to host its largest ever vegan festival in Birmingham.

The Birmingham Viva! Vegan Festival is returning to the city for a new an improved event, leveling up everything the organisation has arranged for previous Viva! Vegan Festivals across the UK.

According to the event’s Facebook page, Viva! will take place at the New Bingley Hall on September 8th and will see 160 stalls offering plant-based food, from hot to cold, and a wide array of vegan apparel and cruelty-free products. Ethically-made gifts, fashion, and cosmetics also feature on the line-up. The event is also welcoming talks from vegan industry leaders and experts, with plant-based cooking demonstrations on offer for the duration of the day.

Additionally, free nutritional advice on following a vegan lifestyle or plant-based diet will be provided from the Viva! Health Stall.

“Whether you’re vegan, veggie or just appreciate good food, come along for a great day out!” Viva! writes on the event. “There’s something for everyone so bring family and friends.”

The Growing Vegan Market

Vegan festivals are popping up across the UK and the world. The historic city of Bath is hosting its premier vegan festival this month. And, an upcoming vegan festival aptly titled “We Love Vegan Food” is poised to take over a former Spitalfields market in London.

In the UK, the demand for vegan food is continuing to skyrocket as retailers and restaurants are adding more plant-based food and products to menus and store shelves. Tesco, the UK’s leading supermarket, sold more than 2.5 million units of its Wicked Kitchen line of prepared meals in just the first 20 weeks on the market.

Alongside the rising demand for compassionate and sustainable food and products is the increasing consumer warming to vegan culture in fashion and beauty products. Recently, a number of fashion brands and labels have sworn off fur, mohair, and other animal-derived textiles.

Tickets are on sale for just £3, with the option of a VIP ticket for £15 that includes a vegan goody bag and entry without queuing. The following day at six in the morning, a unique free after-party will commence.
