Mars to Take Healthy Vegan and Plant Based Snack Brand Global

Veggie snack brand, KIND, has received a minority investment from multinational giant Mars recently, and they’re helping KIND go global.

KIND offers a huge range of snacks that fit all sorts of dietary requirements including many that are vegan. The entire range is suitable for vegetarians but some of the bars contain honey.

According to ConfectioneryNews, KIND is ‘one of the fastest-growing brands in the snacks market,’ as well as being the ‘third largest snack bar brand in the world.’ It’s speculated that the investment from Mars was greater than $4bn, although there is no official word on this.

In return for financial investment, it’s said that KIND will give Mars a ‘newly formed global health and wellness platform.’ The CEO of Mars, Grant Reid, has commented that their new partnership is built on ‘mutual admiration and a shared vision for growth.’

An analyst for Euromonitor has speculated that Mars may one day acquire KIND, however, KIND’s founder has ‘been explicit about wanting to keep the company private.’

The brand is currently worth £13.39bn globally.
