Another mainstream food chain offering vegan items!
It sure has been a long time coming since being founded in 1987, but Panera Bread Co. has finally introduced new specialty-diet items to their menus in-house and digitally through their app, website and order-in-kiosks which now includes a plant-based menu!
Panera now joins the ever-growing number of companies and food chains who are hopping onto the vegan train and offering pre-designed, cruelty-free options that won’t consume your valuable time trying to customise something into a suitable option.
Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, here we come!
Café-bakery chain Panera aims to make it more convenient to serve and please customers with dietary requirements or preferences such as plant-based, nutrient-packed or high-protein for those fad followers at their 2,000+ franchises.
“The new, curated menus are another way we’re making it easier for our guests to order great food that works for their lifestyle,” said Katie Bengston, Panera’s nutrition manager.
Registered dieticians have created these culinary options to ‘take the guesswork out of our menu for a guest with specific taste or dietary preferences’, making it faster and easier for people to enjoy their food.
The plant-based menu is hopeful to please vegans and vegetarians, offering ingredients which include nuts, fruits, grains and berries. This menu also includes an ‘Ancient Grain Greek Salad’ designed by registered dietitian nutritionist, Frances Largeman-Roth.
This is further proof that the future of food is becoming vegan!
Other new menu items include a ‘Protein-Rich’ category which provides a minimum of 20% of the RDI of protein, for those who are fitness-minded or looking to eat protein-dense meals.
‘Nutrient-Packed’ is the final new specialty menu item, focusing on meals which provide balanced calories, fat, sodium, carbohydrates, fiber and protein.
Thanks to Panera, our next outing will be sure to result in taking advantage of trying out all the delicious vegan menu options!
