Peet’s Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Has Us Saying, ‘Starbucks Who?’

Peet's Coffee

Ready or not, pumpkin spice season is here. And to celebrate it, Peet’s Coffee just spiced up its fall menu. The coffee and tea chain upgraded its seasonal offerings with the launch of its new Pumpkin Oat Foam Cold Brew.

The plant-based beverage—available for a limited time at select coffeebars—contains Peet’s Coffee’s medium roast Baridi Blend cold brew coffee, which features a fruity, floral flavor. But the star of this autumnal cup of goodness is its creamy pumpkin pie-flavored oat milk foam.

“How could we top pumpkin spice? With a pumpkin pie-spiced oat milk microfoam, of course,” says Patrick Main, Peet’s Coffee’s Senior Beverage Innovator.

“We know our customers count on Peet’s for new tastes and coffee experiences and this menu delivers the flavors and crisp sensations of fall with greater variety than ever before,” he adds.

Seasonal favorites also made a comeback this year. Peet’s Coffee’s Pumpkin Latte and Maple Latte—available either hot or iced—are back on the fall menu.

Both drinks feature hand-pulled espresso and steamed milk. The latter contains a touch of sweet maple, while the former is topped with seasonal spices, including cinnamon and nutmeg. The lattes can be customized to be made for vegan by opting for either soy, oat, or almond milk.

A maple oat frappé is also on the menu. However, it is only available to members of Peet’s Coffee’s reward program. The caffeinated beverage features cold brew, maple, and oat milk all blended with ice.

Peet’s Coffee’s new pumpkin spice cold brew

Peet’s Coffee, with the release of its new pumpkin spice cold brew, isn’t the only coffee company to embrace pumpkin spice this season.

Starbucks U.K. just revealed its fall menu. It includes the comeback of its iconic seasonal drinks: the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino Blended Beverage. Both menu items can be customized to be made vegan by requesting non-dairy milk and vegan whipped cream, which the company launched last year.

And as if anyone not based in the U.K. could get anymore jealous: the chain also released a vegan Pumpkin Spice Cookie.

But for those living in the U.S., fret not. Although the chain doesn’t have a vegan PSL—yet—Starbucks upgraded its at-home range with the launch of its Pumpkin Spice Flavored Non-Dairy Creamer. The vegan pumpkin spice creamer features a blend of oat and almond milk and the flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg.

The coffee giant also released a Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Concentrate, which features cold-steeped coffee with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg flavoring.
