Rap Artist Remy Ma Credits Meat-Free Diet for Her Weight Loss

Successful American rap artist, Remy Ma, recently revealed her weight loss secret and it’s not a fad celebrity diet. The multi-platinum selling artist says her new physique is all down to cutting out the meat from her meals.

The star was looking healthy and fresh when she appeared on popular U.S. chat show, “The Wendy Williams Show”, tlate last year. Her visible transformation prompted the host, Wendy, to appear shocked. “You look stunning!” Williams raved. “I didn’t know whether it was spanx or what when I saw pictures of you, but you’ve lost hella weight. What are you doing?!”

What she’s doing is eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water. “First, I did a juicing thing and cleansed everything,” Ma explained, “and then I stopped eating meat.”  Whilst the rapper did admit that she still indulges in seafood, she described her diet as consisting of “mostly just fruits and vegetables” and “water, water, water, water”.

Remy Ma is not the only celebrity to cut meat from her diet for health reasons. Fellow musician and former frontman of The Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am, recently announced that he was following a vegan diet. He initially made the decision for health reasons after a visit to the doctor. “They said I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol,” the star explained,“I was like, ‘Why am I having that?”

The appointment shocked the singer into making a change. He said that after “The Voice” finished filming last year, he gave his life an overhaul. “After we finished filming in December I went home, I became vegan, I biked to work, and I lost 15Ib.”

Going meat-free for health reasons is not just a celebrity trend. Across the globe, many people have been switching to a plant-based lifestyle for the benefit of their health. Thirty-nine percent of this year’s Veganuary participants claimed they took part in the challenge for health reasons. With more and more reports showing links between the consumption of animal products and various diseases, the rising interest in a meat-free lifestyle is unsurprising.
