Watch Snoop Dogg Get Schooled on Vegan Meat

The 34th Annual Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular in Los Angeles last month didn’t just bring the popular vegan Beyond Burgers to its star-studded attendees, it brought the vegan meat trivia, too. And some folks fared better than others.

Guests included World Series champion baseballer Nick Swisher, actress Joanna Garcia, Retired NBA player Robert Horry, vegan Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee, and rapper Snoop Dogg.

While Snoop Dogg hasn’t been shy about his love for the vegan Beyond Burger patty — he’s been seen giving away the Carl’s Jr. Beyond Star burgers and driving the Beyond Meat van — his knowledge about the brand and product isn’t nearly as developed.

Beyond Meat’s host Jason Zone Fisher took to the red carpet to test attendees on their knowledge of Beyond Meat’s products. He asked questions like how many ounces of protein are in a 4-ounce Beyond Burger. Answers were all over the place — Dana White UFC President said 60 while Snoop’s answer, unsurprisingly: 420. LAFC defender Walker Zimmerman answered correctly: 20.

Fisher asked guests a number of other questions, like Beyond Meat’s mission is to create the future of what? While some answered food and meat, the company’s mission is to impact the future of protein. Founder Ethan Brown has been vocal about the protein dilemma.

“There’s no mystery to meat,” he said last year. “It’s amino acids, lipids, trace minerals and water. And if you can deliver those four things in the same blueprint or architecture as muscle – why can’t that be called meat?”

How Many Beyond Burgers Is That?

Fisher stumped more Sports Spectacular guests with this question: “Using the amount of water in the average swimming pool you can create 312 beef burgers. Using that same amount of water, how many Beyond Burgers can you make?”

Some answered high – in the millions, while other guests, including Snoop Dogg, answered quite low. Snoop guessed 645. But the correct answer is much more impressive. According to Beyond Meat, a swimming pool amount of water can produce 60,000 Beyond Burgers compared to the 312 beef burgers.

Fisher also dove into some true or false questions: Beyond Meat products are made with soy (false) and Beyond Meat products are made with GMOs (also false).

But right or wrong, Snoop Dogg doesn’t have to give up his Beyond Meat habit any time soon. The vegan meat brand keeps appearing in more fast-food restaurants across the planet. So here’s another question that Snoop will definitely want to get right: Which national sandwich shop just added Beyond Meat’s meatballs to its menu? (That’ll be Subway, Snoop. Make it a foot long!)
