Online subscription-based organic supermarket, Thrive Market, is set to partner with vegan meat brand Beyond Meat within the next few months. According to the company, a number of own-brand vegan products are also planned for future release.

On Monday afternoon, the brand hosted a live Q&A session on Facebook with Thrive Market CEO  and co-founder Nick Green, where subscribers were invited to ask questions. When asked if Thrive Market would carry plant-based proteins like tofu, tempeh, or vegan meat, the company replied: “We’re actually partnering with Beyond Meat in the next few months. Stay tuned for details.”

In addition to Thrive Market’s Beyond Meat partnership, Green revealed that the brand is set to debut two types of own-brand vegan mayonnaise: one coconut oil-based, the other a blend of avocado and coconut oil. Thrive Market vegan protein powders, as well as a variety of undisclosed vegan products and snacks packaged under the company’s label, are also on the way. Throughout the Q&A session, Green was receptive to customer requests from plant-based products like Gardein vegan meat and So Delicious vegan ice cream as well as customer concerns regarding sustainability and packaging.

Founded in 2015 with a mission of making affordable, healthy food accessible to all, Thrive Market is a membership-based online supermarket that sells organic and non-GMO products to subscribers at prices that are 25-50 percent lower than standard retail. The company also has an ongoing partnership with non-profit hunger relief organization, Feeding America, in order to provide low-income American families living in food deserts with free subscriptions. The brand is also committed to sustainability and reducing its environmental impact by recycling, using as little packaging as possible, and by moving towards becoming a zero-waste brand.

Thrive Market’s organic vegan groceries already cover a broad spectrum of categories, ranging from pantry staples like beans and grains to readymade canned meals and vegan snacks and candy. However, Thrive Market’s vegan meat options are currently limited to the basics of tofu and seitan. The upcoming partnership with Beyond Meat will represent the brand’s first collaboration with a vegan meat company, making it easier for customers to buy vegan groceries online.
