Have you calmed down yet about the news that Non-Dairy Ben & Jerry’s is making it’s way to the UK? We certainly haven’t.

As exciting at the news was, without a tub of the dairy free Chocolate Fudge Brownie close by to celebrate it’s left a sad, empty, ice cream shaped place in our tummies. They could have at least made it available in time for summer!

Luckily, Ben & Jerry’s isn’t the only ice cream brand in the world, and some of them are even available in the UK already. We’ve made a list for you in case you need to drown some sorrows or fancy a cone in the next few months.

Top 5 Vegan Ice Creams Available in the UK

(While You Wait for Ben & Jerry’s)

1. Booja Booja

If you haven’t tried this stuff you need to because quite simply it’s a beautiful experience. It comes in six amazing flavours including Raspberry Ripple, Caramel Pecan Praline and Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle. Even better (yes, it gets better) it’s free from refined sugars and it’s made largely from cashews so you can get a huge dose of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants with your scoop.

2. Alpro

Is there anything these guys don’t make dairy free? Available in three flavours; Coconut, Vanilla and Hazelnut Chocolate, this soy-based ice cream boasts 30% less sugars than your typical dairy ice cream. It’s also hella delicious and a must have in the freezer for summer.

3. Coconut Collaborative

These guys are as obsessed with coconut as they sound and my goodness can they turn that fruit into some tasty things. The Coconut Collaborative range isn’t technically ice cream, it’s frozen yoghurt, but if you’ve ever tried anything from Coconut Collaborative you’ll know you’re not missing out on any creaminess. Their range is called the ‘snowconut’ range and who doesn’t appreciate a good plant-based pun? They offer tubs of some hard to come by flavours including mango and raspberry and even have chocolate dipped snowconut sticks. YUM!

4. Swedish Glace

Swedish Glace is the epitome of ice-cream simplicity. It’s for days lounging about in an English garden and reading books. I would highly recommend accompanying it with strawberries. It is also extremely affordable, priced at roughly £2.50 for a 750ml tub. On top of all this, it’s very widely available even in smaller stores and en stick.

5. Almond Dream

I am pretty sure that Almond Dream’s Mint Choc-Chip ice cream actually changed my life. No, seriously. It also comes in Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip and Velvet Vanilla. Available in most major supermarkets it’s exactly what you need for a night in watching the telly. My only recommendation would be that you don’t share.
