Vegan Beyond Sausage Arrives at San Francisco’s Meaty Hot Dog Chain

San Francisco foodies, this one’s for you! The Beyond Sausage is now available at Rosamunde Sausage Grill‘s Mission Street, Haight Street and Oakland locations.

“It’s always been important to us to have a vegan sausage on the menu to serve the diverse needs our customers, and have long been searching for a better option, something without gluten and soy, and that would appeal more broadly to all our customers,” said Josh Margolis, owner of Rosamunde Sausage Grill.

“The minute I took a bite of Beyond Sausage and tasted the explosion of flavor, and felt the signature snap of the casing there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that we needed to put this on our menu. Our customers are going to go nuts for this.”

Beyond Meat claims to be the first company who have produced a sausage product that delivers the “juicy, satisfying taste and texture of pork sausage”. The sausage is available in three flavors: Original Bratwurst, Sweet Italian, and Hot Italian. The product is designed to have a strong appeal to not only the vegan and vegetarian market, but meat-eating consumers.

Rosamunde’s traditionally animal-heavy menu will feature all three flavors of the Beyond Sausage. These vegan sausages will be available plated and served with salad and baked beans, or in a baguette with two house-made sauces. Customers can choose from toppings such as grilled onions, sauerkraut, sweet onions, hot peppers, mango chutney, and more.

This plant-strong sausage boasts more protein than a traditional meat-based sausage, at 16g per link. Moreover, this sausage can be enjoyed with peace of mind, knowing you’re consuming 38% less saturated fat, 43% less total fat, 27% fewer calories, and 26% less sodium. This modern meat is helping consumers feel less guilty about indulging in the foods they love.

Although the Beyond Sausage is relatively new to the marketplace, this animal-free option is already having a substantial impact. Just recently, popular fast-food spot Veggie Grill announced they will be serving the option. New York City and Los Angeles have also seen their Beyond Sausage debut.
