Vegan Leather Handbag By K. Carroll Accessories Makes Oprah’s Favorite Things List

Oprah Says Going Vegan One Meal a Day Was the 'Easiest Thing'

Harper Crossbody bags by vegan handbag brand K. Carroll Accessories have landed a spot on Oprah Winfrey’s holiday gift list this year.

Consisting of 107 items, “Oprah’s Favorite Things 2018” includes of a range of gift suggestions, varying in price. It includes everything from pajamas, to juicers, to stainless steel cocktail straws, to – of course – handbags. According to the star, the affordable crossbody bags (priced at $19.99) contain “four RFID-protected card slots, two separate inside compartments, and a detachable crossbody strap, all in one cute little vegan leather bag.”

Available in 12 colors, the bag can be attached to a belt or hung across the body with the strap. In fact, the bags are so practical and stylish that TV personality Gayle King – Oprah’s “purse-loving BFF” – has already bought them for everyone she knows.

Completely female run and led, K. Carroll Accessories – founded by Kelly Carroll – has created “animal-friendly” bags, phone cases, and wallets for 16 years. “What you’ll find out about our bags is that they are designed with both style and purpose,” Carroll notes on the brand’s website. “In addition to being on-trend and fashionable, we always try to offer as many features as possible. We are a women-owned and operated company so we feel we have a pretty good idea of [what] women want in their accessories.”

This is not the first time that one of K. Carroll’s vegan leather accessories has made Oprah’s list. Back in 2016, the brand’s Cell Sleeve was also recommended by the influential TV host.

Is Oprah Vegan?

Whilst Oprah has not confirmed if she is yet a vegan, she supports a number of cruelty-free brands, has strong views on animal welfare, and has taken plant-based challenges in the past.

After one plant-based cleanse in 2008, Oprah stated, “I learned a lot about how animals are treated and mistreated before they get to our tables. It is appalling and beneath our humanity to allow the torture of animals for the sake of our gluttony.”

She continued, “We’ve neglected basic human decency on such a large scale, and it really does bleed over into every other aspect of life.”
