P.S This New York Vegan Eatery Donates All Profits To Charity

A new vegan eatery has opened in midtown Manhattan. The menu has been designed by Chef Gary Barawidan, who helped open Ravi DeRossi’s Avant Garden and worked at Union Square Cafe and Locanda Verde. Using quality ingredients, all 100% plant based, and classic French techniques the team have created an artisan inspired sophisticated menu. But that’s not all, all the profits will be donated to charity.

P.S. Kitchen has a mission: To leverage the power of good food and an open heart to lovingly serve our clients, employees, society and the earth.’ They plan to do this by creating jobs for those marginalized in New York, donating 100% of profits to sustainable charities, and providing New Yorkers with delicious food that are kind to the body and the earth. They are working with a range of partners to deliver these ambitions including The Doe Fund, CEEDS (Cooperative for Economic Empowerment and Development Services), Share Hope, Defy Ventures and Yunus Social Business.

Craig Cochran, one of the owners said,

“The concept came from a friend of mine who is a philanthropist. She thought it would be fun to have a bar/lounge where all profits would be donated to charity.”

The vegan menu looks dazzling with dishes such as, Maitake Bao; Watermelon and Heirloom Tomato Salad with basil, homemade (vegan) feta and mint purée; Buffalo Hen of the Wood consisting of buffalo style mushrooms with a German purple sweet potato salad; and a P.S. Burger. For dessert we’d go for the ‘Chocolate, Raspberries’, a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and a raspberry-kalamansi purée or the ‘Strawberry Short Cake’, made with almond biscuit, strawberry cream, almond cream and strawberry-rhubarb compote. They also have a full Lunch menu, Brunch menu and do a nibbles menu to enjoy with drinks at the bar.

And the name? Just check out the bottom of the Menu,
