Vegan Food at Trader Joe’s That Will Pumpkin-Spice Up Your Fall

For the 50th anniversary of Trader Joe’s in August, we gave you the top 5 vegan picks. However now, with the season changing over to fall and the calendar fast-ticking into October – Trader Joe’s have released their latest seasonal range – including the return of old favourites and some brand newbies! Let us bless you with the knowledge that aside from the obvious fresh seasonal produce – TJ’s also stock delicious convenience products from their fall line, that you may or may not be aware are actually vegan.

Vegan Food at Trader Joe’s That Will Pumpkin-Spice Up Your Fall

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Mix

Most baking mixes from packets call for eggs, milk or butter – however for those who choose plant-based, these can easily be swapped for an egg substitute product or homemade egg substitute such as aquafaba, the trendy brine from a can of chickpeas that has proteins which behave similarly to egg whites. Some people recommend that all you need is a can of soda added to a baking mix. Alternately, mashed bananas or apple/pumpkin puree work well in place of butter. Find it here.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Coffee

This beautiful medley of orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla beans and pumpkin spice oil are ground up alongside the coffee beans, creating a comforting Pumpkin Spice meets Latte flavor.

Trader Joe’s aptly describes as, “It’s like having a very low calorie slice of pumpkin pie, in a cup. That you drink.” Find it here.

Pumpkin Tortilla Chips

Who would have known that TJ’s would stock festive tortilla chips that are even gluten-free? Made with a combination of plant-ingredients – corn flour, vegetable oil, pumpkin puree, pumpkin seeds, degerminated corn meal, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Delicious – yes, and they offer something a little different to pumpkin pie. Find it here.

Pumpkin O’s

This beloved seasoned cereal is making it’s return to TJ’s stores nationwide. You can’t miss it as the packaging is labelled with the V-word right on the front. Basically – this cereal just ticks all your boxes. Find it here.

Pecan Pumpkin Oatmeal

Perfect for those with a real sweet-tooth, this breakfast will kick start your day on a pumpkin-infused sugar high. However, there’s nothing to stop you from eating this instant meal at any time of the day – in fact, we encourage it. Find it here.

Spiced Cider

On those chilly autumn nights rugged up by the fire, this is your go-to spiked fall beverage. This could be heated and consumed straight or mixed with another alcohol (try Bicardi or Vodka) and some sweetener syrup (maple, agave, coconut nectar). Find it here.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Almond Beverage

Returning to the shelves is this nutty and delicious take on a pumpkin spice latte yet boasts versatility and warming flavour. Best enjoyed with long socks and blankies by the fire – does it get better than that? Find it here.

Ghosts & Bats

Despite the title, these snacks contain no creatures, rather 100% crispy potato snacks. They’re rather airy so make the perfect light snack to enjoy with a bowl of pumpkin hummus or good ol’ guacamole. However if eating right out of the bag is your thing, you sure aren’t alone. Find them here.

Pumpkin Joe Joe’s & Pumpkin Rolls

You may be pleased to know that both of these are indeed vegan-friendly! The sugar is even free of bone-char and the ‘natural flavors’ are vegan, too! Trader Joe’s have assured My Vegan Journal that “the palm oil they use in these cookies and rolls is sustainably sourced and not from countries that have orangutans”. Find them at your local Trader Joe’s.
