Vegan Documentary What The Health Nominated for Prestigious Film Award

One of the most talked about documentaries of the year, What The Health, has announced today that it has been nominated for a major award.

The NAACP Image Awards, a ceremony dedicated to acknowledging the on-screen achievements of people of color, has nominated What The Health for the Outstanding Documentary (Television) category. The documentary is pitted against The Defiant Ones, Birth of a Movement, The 44th President: In His Own Words, and Black Love.

The documentary has caused quite a stir since its release on Netflix earlier this year. The documentary sought to expose the link between poor public health and the meat industry. Looking at the consumption of animal products on our bodies, as well as the pollution caused by factory farms in poor neighborhoods, What The Health exposed some concerning truths about the meat and dairy industries.

Filmmaker, Kip Anderson, speaks with a number of medical professionals throughout the course of the documentary including Dr. Neal Barnard and Dr. Milton Mills.

What The Health has been responsible for several celebrities making the switch to veganism this year including Ne-Yo and British Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton.
