Finally a Post-Workout Protein Drink That Doesn’t Suck (And It’s Vegan)

Digital-first beverage company Après has launched its first ever plant based protein drink. The drink, which mixes a blend of plant protein, virgin coconut oil, and coconut oil aims to address a big void in the fitness market.

It’s our belief that modern wellness consumers, especially women, have been all but overlooked from a replenishment point-of-view,” said Sonny McCracken, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Après. “We spent more than a year working hand-in-hand with this consumer group to develop a product that could not only provide the clean label and nutrition they’re looking for but also deliver great taste,” they added.

Darby Jackson, the other co-founder, said that 95% of their clientele were women and that they often had a hard time finding a post-workout supplement that left them satisfied before their next meal. They said that while men were often happy with protein shakes, women were looking for something a little more restorative. That’s where Après new drink comes into the picture.

Coconuts

The pea, chia, cacao, and hemp in the drinks, which are full of protein and amino acids, promote satiation so you won’t be hungry right after. The virgin coconut oil has metabolic fats which provide sustainable energy, and, finally, there’s the coconut water that provides much-needed post workout hydration. Simply put, the drink is meant to restore and replenish your body after a workout, no matter the intensity level. It is full of vegan, kosher, non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free and soy-free ingredients.

The drink comes in three different flavors: Mint Cacao, Sea Salt Chocolate, and Chai Spiced Vanilla. They can be purchased online at $5.95 per bottle or $34.50 for a six pack. There are also a variety of subscriptions one can buy, for the shoppers who don’t want to keep placing individual orders.
